Successfully completed the Manufacturing Portfolio Project 5: Enhanced Turbine Manufacture for Performance and Cost (with Rolls-Royce plc).Main activities include: Condition monitoring; damage assessment and digital twins; sourcing, characterisation, mechanical testing, and failure analysis of composite materials; design, simulation, and damage modelling of composite materials at component level; characterisation, micromechanical damage modelling, and property prediction of ceramic shell materials; mechanical testing and characterisation of single crystal Ni-based superalloys.
