- Monitors the safe and efficient operation of engineering machinery, equipment and spaces,- Enters data in logs, and reports special events in the appropriate logs. - Performs routine maintenance and repair of engine room machinery and auxiliary equipment, such as- HFO Purifiers- Lube Oil Purifiers- Fresh water generator- Incineration plant- Sewage treatment plant- Heavy Fuel Oil and Diesel Oil pumps- Exhaust Gas Boiler- Auxiliary Boilers- Cargo Oil Turbines and Pumps- Hydraulic Machinery- Main and Service air compressors- Pneumatic control system.- Manages the water treatment of main propulsion engines, auxiliary generators and auxiliary boilers, routine water analysis. - Storage of chemicals and performs monthly lube oil inventory.- Storage of bulk lubes oil and performs routine testing of lube oils in various engineering systems, monthly lube oil inventory.- Performs machinery overhauls, dismantle machinery and equipment, effect repairs to same by replacing or fabricating components, perform subsequent reassembles, operational testing of controls, safeties, shutdowns, and place equipment in service. - Perform any job assigned by 2-nd Engineer or Chief Engineer.
