I interacted between the editorial and commercial departments offering suggestions for news and features which will attract advertisers and readers. Major assignments also involved producing supplements for Punchestown Racing Festival, the Curragh Derby and a Tourism Guide to Kildare, Laois & Offaly. Events co-ordinated included the Irish premieres of… Show more I set up my own company Peach Publicity & Promotions in June 1996 to provide a PR, Promotions and Marketing consultancy service for mostly UK clients devising strategies to enhance their profile and positioning within the Irish market. Clients included Warner Home Entertainment, Guild Film Distributors, Columbia Tri Star Film Distributors, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, Dreamworld (Belfast), Ster Century Cinemas, Storm Cinemas. Events co-ordinated included the Irish premieres of the films James & The Giant Peach, The Fifth Element, Runaway Bride (which involved a co-promotion with Dublin Bus and a major promotional competition with 98FM offering a complete wedding package from rings, dress, reception to lavish honeymoon). My key achievement was my marketing and publicity campaign for the opening of Ster Century cinema in Liffey Valley. The campaign was subsequently adapted for use at further openings in Budapest and Prague (which I co-ordinated on location). The innovative campaign used text, the internet, guerilla marketing, schools and community groups along with traditional media outlets to promote and launch the Ster brand. Other clients during this period included the American children's clothing brand OshKosh B'Gosh on its launch into Ireland, fashion brand Fat Face's Irish launch (which also included an innovative guerilla marketing campaign). Worked closely with independent film production company Grand Pictures on three movies - The Last Bus Home, Mapmaker and Dead Long Enough. Duties included on-set publicity, post production publicity plus marketing and publicity on release of the movies which involved developing and maintaining key media contacts. PR campaigns completed for clients such as the National Ploughing Championships, LEADER, Samba Soccer and further campaigns for Ster Century UK in Cardiff, Edinburgh and Leeds.
