Vivian and I have been working together at Clean Water Action since spring of 2021. We were both hired as Office Managers at the same time, were trained for that position together, and since then I have had the privilege of working closely with Vivian as co-facilitators of the organization’s LGBTQ+ Social Caucus. The Caucus is a weekly call during which LGBTQ+-identifying Clean Water staff have the opportunity to raise grievances, get advice, just vent, and have fun together. Vivian has consistently demonstrated her excitement for our work and innovative ideas. For example, she went above and beyond by creating posters advertising the LGBTQ+ and other caucuses for our various offices, coordinated with payroll & HR to avoid using people’s deadnames in internal communications, and lead conducting interviews of queer-identifying staff for a Pride Month blog post co-written by the LGBTQ+ Caucus participants. Additionally, she has spearheaded creating a facilitator handbook to make training new caucus facilitators easier, consistently brings any concerns to HR, and volunteers to lead briefings that introduce the caucus calls to new staff. Vivian is a delight to work with.
