      • Investigated the flow properties at the combustor turbine interface using real engine hardware. • Modelled flow using FLUENT and compared the results with experiments. The work showed high level of turbulence and the first stage HP turbine efficiency was sensitive to approaching flow. The work also includes modification of inner cooling flows geometries for better cooling flow managements and results are used in Trent 1000 engines. • Studied flow properties inside a dual fuel gas turbine injector. The results are used in future design of RB211 industrial gas turbine fuel injectors to reduce emissions. • Investigated different passive damper geometries to suppress combustion instability. Measured acoustic properties using two microphone techniques. Designed and tested different passive dampers geometries. The results will be used to design passive damper for future lean burner combustion system. • Measured heat transfer properties in cold skin of the combustor tile at different condition using thermo chromic liquid crystal. The work is used to develop a model to predict the efficiency of future engines cooling geometries.
