Bio
Nicky Depree
I have known and worked with Viv Everitt from 2009 to 2011 when I was her Management Advisor at Aisha Bint Abi Baker School in Abu Dhabi. As Teacher Advisor ESOL Viv was responsible for assessing the English speaking and writing abilities of the target teachers and designing individual learning programmes that extended and scaffolded their learning into achievable steps. Her classes were well attended and teachers reported being supported and encouraged to participate. Viv made regular assessments of progress and kept comprehensive and accurate records as well as accurate data analyses of summative tests. Viv made her ESOL classroom into a warm and welcoming environment with colorful posters, examples of English phrases and prompts as well as modeling interactive teaching practice and interventions which teachers could take and use in their classrooms. Viv also took on the role of Special Needs Advisor and set up the Special Needs register in consultation with two social workers, heads of departments, senior managers and teachers. The IEPs and ILPs created for students were implemented and the students showed measurable progress. Viv acted as Management Advisor for me on several occasions showing perceptive and sensitive management strategies and good judgment in often volatile situations. I have no hesitation in recommending Viv very highly
