The Disease and Pest Team of the Soybean Innovation Laboratory aims to help our collaborators in Africa avoid yield loss by identifying and pointing to the solution to their problems involving diseases and pests while also developing tools to assist in the disease and pest management! We are also responsible for educational courses, workshops, webinars, trainings, and extension materials about soybean diseases and pests in African countries. And I coordinate our team! I conducted my own experiment (scientific initiation program) with the Development of harrvest index of wheat cultivars in response to nitrogen fertilization. . I also helped in the field and laboratory work in trials involving wheat, oat, corn beans and soybean crops from the Plant Technology laboratory.

Ás vezes, trabalhava no buffet do cassino, como um Buster, isto é, um garçom que auxiliava na limpeza das mesas. No meu primeiro Estágio, no laboratório de Biotecnologia, eu fazia mais tarefas básicas como limpezas de vidrarias e organização de materiais, pois estava no meu primeiro ano da graduação e não tinha muito o conhecimento na área ainda, por isso lá eles me ensinavam os procedimentos e pediam para eu pesquisar as técnicas modernas de biotecnologia para eu ter o conhecimento, no final já estava fazendo inoculação de bactérias em placas de Petri em meio de Agarose e acompanhando outros procedimentos.
