G3CT has developed GREEN³ CONVERSION® – a disruptive patented technology for converting scrap tires into high value carbon black. The conversion byproduct is energy that is used for internal needs and and the surplus can be sold. It is estimated that more than 1.7 billion tires have been discarded globally every year. About 46% of scrap tires are incinerated releasing toxic chemicals into the atmosphere, more than 15% are deposited into the landfills and become a breeding ground for rats, snakes, and mosquitoes, causing widespread virus epidemics. GREEN³ CONVERSION® technology offers energy efficient and environmentally friendly process for eliminating global stockpile of scrap tires and recovering high-grade carbon black. It has a potential to replace major grades of virgin carbon black to be used in manufacturing tires and other rubber and plastic applications. The technology is also capable of producing high value specialty conductive carbon black for use in demanding semi-conductive applications. The GREEN³ CONVERSION® technology’s carbon footprint is approximately 20% of the one typical for the virgin carbon black manufacturing process from fossil sources (i.e. gas or oil) in use today.
