I served as a graduate student mentor to Haneesha in the neurobiology lab of Dr. Li Yao at WSU, and have witnessed her development as a scientific researcher, a lab teacher, and a mentor to undergraduate students in our lab. Together, we fabricated and characterized chemically crosslinked collagen-protein composite scaffolding for neural regenerative purposes. Specific skills were developed along with these fabrication methods, including glial cell culture methodologies, microscopy, data analysis, alamar blue assays, immunocytochemistry, polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, and western blotting. As a basis for future projects, we created standardized protocols and listed modifications as needed, such as the optimization of antibody concentrations utilized in western blot analysis. Our program requires a great deal of independent, self-motivated work, both in a team setting and as an individual. She has excellent research skills and demonstrates a command of both the theoretical aspects and practical applications of laboratory experimentation. Haneesha's professionalism and presentation skills are top-notch, ideally suited for both academic and corporate settings. I can wholeheartedly recommend Haneesha and confidently say that she will make a great addition anywhere.

Haneesha was an amazing teacher with exceptional knowledge in Molecular Cell Biology. As a lab instructor, she was not only exceptional in terms of relaying her knowledge, but conveyed methods on how to use specific instrumentation and other methods flawlessly. Haneesha was also caring and put her students first in any and every way possible. I genuinely enjoyed learning from her and have definitely sharpened my basic Molecular Cell Biology lab skills because of her.
