Conducted on-site research (contextual inquiries) and discovery interviews with borderland communities residing near Indo-Pakistan border. My participants were youngsters above 18 years, their parents and other family members. I have discovered that: ✔ Border residents are living in intense fear, with many of them having near death experiences due to cease fire violations leading to post traumatic stress disorder. ✔ People living in border villages can find themselves caught in the direct line of fire during wars, minor skirmishes or other such incidents. ✔ Increased Vulnerability to psychological distress in populations affected by border conflict is widely recognized and many of these border lander due to lack of proper treatment facilities, have started considering intoxication as their only treatment.
