I consider Virginia Phillippi a colleague more than a consultant as she worked along side me. My organization changed names many times over the years, and Virginia was there from the beginning working through all the changes. We started from nothing, just a sketch on graph paper with my Post It notes to simulate pull down menus. She took those crude drawings and implemented a fabulous, useful Website with minimal back and forth. She listens, understands the needs, and implements them. Virginia also understands data, the lifeblood of non profits. With this knowledge, she designed a database and reports and migrated the data from the initial software platform to other software platforms as the National Intelligence Education Foundation needed other capabilities in order to increase membership and resulting benefits. With Virginia, you narrate your end result and she implements it. You are not served if you try to micromanage and dictate. Her skills, experience, education, talents, and vision will serve you well if you tell your story properly. She will be able to craft an answer which is elegant and useful. I continued to work with Virginia after she moved from my area and found that even online the working relationship functioned well. In addition, Virginia is a pleasure to work with. She is always pleasant and cheerful. She's never overwhelmed or flustered. I never felt as if I were her boss; she is a trusted colleague and friend.
