Chief Operating Officer

In my Chief of Staff role, I originally coordinated across several business entities then quickly moved to an operational role. Operationally, I focused on advancing the launch of a small-batch bourbon brand. I carefully navigated the complex world of Direct to Consumer alcohol laws culminating in establishing an e-commerce opportunity increasing reach to an additional 31 states. Once bourbon was well on its way, I moved to a COO role and set the foundation for an overnight hospitality property that includes a membership-driven social club component. Located in Louisville, Kentucky, I coordinated all aspects, inside and out, associated with getting a 220-plus year old house ready for the guest/member experience. Show less

Mar 2017 - Sep 2020
I was initially hired as the Director of Human Resources. As a result of my efforts, I was promoted to Executive Director, then to Interim CEO, and finally to the position of Chief Strategy Officer. Asked by ownership to establish a people-valued hospitality company unlike any other, I accepted and met that challenge. During my tenure, we grew the company from two restaurants, a bar, and an event space to those plus three additional restaurants, a massive bar and entertainment venue, and a members-only social club. Most rewarding, we grew from less than 100 employees to 300 employees and established a culture of care, training, promotion opportunity, and benefits supporting overall wellbeing. In 2021, I led the company through the unprecedented times of COVID from initial safety protocols to an unfortunate yet thoughtful partial operational shutdown and resultant workforce reshaping strategy.
