I had the opportunity to share with Iliana Violeta as interns and then as consultants at the General Secretariat of the Organization of American States between 2017 and 2018. During this time, I could witness firsthand her enthusiasm, commitment, and passion about everything she does in matter of women rights, gender equality, and sustainable development. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Iliana for any professional opportunity considering her human rights approach, team work capacity, and critical thinking, that make of her an outstanding professional, and more important, such a valuable person and friend.

En mi experiencia en la Organización de los Estados Américanos conocí de Violeta como una exepcional profesional, atenta, responsable que va más allá siempre buscando la excelencia. No dudo que alcanzará el éxito en todo lo que se proponga.

I participate in the legal team that monitors hate crimes against LGBTTTIQ+ people in Latin America and the Caribbean with the Marielle Franco Observatory. Our reports are a communication, information, and advocacy tool for developing public policies focusing on human rights and an intersectional gender perspective. In this role, I conducted comprehensive qualitative and quantitative research on women's rights, utilizing various methods such as interviews, surveys, desk research, and media monitoring in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. I played a pivotal role in supporting project management by overseeing implementation and conducting reporting and analysis within a results-based management framework while ensuring an intersectional and gender perspective was integrated. Additionally, I managed administrative and operational tasks to maintain project efficiency, including donor mapping, drafting terms of reference (TORs), and coordinating logistics for trips and events in collaboration with the financial officer.I also monitored questionnaire responses from 32 countries, resulting in three national reports to assess progress in implementing the Belém do Pará Convention to eradicate violence against women. Furthermore, I established a robust network with over 200 civil society organizations (CSOs) in Latin America and the United States, facilitating their active participation in advocacy spaces and technical meetings. As a leader in planning, promoting, and executing 15 webinars that reached over 2100 participants, along with numerous high-level conferences, seminars, and in-person working meetings, I significantly contributed to the organization's achievements and objectives.
