Undergraduate Ambassador
-
Dec 2022 - Present
I act as part time ambassador aiding veterans in their journey of pursuing undergraduate education via essay writing, application details, and strategies for admissions to top tier schools. I have aided one veteran in successful admission to Brown University majoring in Electrical Engineering. I am currently advising two veterans. One aiming to attend MIT Fall 2024 in computational physics, and another looking to NYU Tandon majoring in Computer Science for Fall 2024. I was a Summer 2023 Intern working as undergraduate researcher at Yale University at Wright Labs in Jack Harris’s Group. We investigated how to optimize the size of Superfluid Helium-4 droplets in vacuum after putting the droplets larger than 0.5 mm into vacuum for the first time. This will provide the experimental apparatus for the following optical experiment in Whispering Gallery Modes in Superfluid Helium-4. I was able to present my work at Princeton, Yale University, and NYU. Big Lessons Learned this during this Internship: • Developing, executing, and refining advanced physics experiment apparatus’s & protocol. • Data management, logging data, and transcribing observations in real time. • Conducting experimental physics research and understanding larger implications in the field. • Effective science communication to the public on our labs research. • Construction, maintenance, and upkeep of cryogenic chambers, cryostats specifically. • Conceptual understanding and applications of magnetic levitation. • Design, construction, and operations of vacuum manifolds. • Handling cryogenic material such Liquid Nitrogen & Helium, Dewars, and Helium recovery systems. • Design, construction, and testing of advanced electrical circuits and relays. • Operating and ensuring safety protocol for superconducting electromagnets. • Advanced thermodynamics, specifically for experiments, cryostats, and superfluid Helium-4. • Optical experimental apparatus’s and introductory conceptual understanding of photonics tools. • Designing and building products with LATEC coding platform. • CAD Design and 3-D printing.
