Pointe-Claire Optical system designer at MPB communications (Space Photonics division). I am mainly involved in the development of two optical instruments. 1) GHGSat: Optical payload for a nanosatellite mission. I am involved in the design (optical and mechanical) and I am the lead for the integration and verification of the payload. The remote sensing instrument, will be used to characterize the emission of greenhouse gas sources from orbit. I am responsible for the optical design of the rover based LIBS instrument. I am leading the design, the integration and the testing of the system. This system is an demonstration prototype for future lunar or mars missions.

For this project, I optimized the process to fabricate IDEs using laser processes (for fast prototyping) on a gold thin layer in order to keep good SPR properties, we showed the different sensitivity of the two techniques for different kind of samples and we measured the binding of Oligonucleotide sequences from the normal and mutated genes of mycobacterium tuberculosis to the gold surfaces. The experiments showed specific attachment of the complementary oligonucleotides compared to the non-complementary ones. Show less

Optimization of a LIBS system (laser induced breakdown spectroscopy) used to characterize galvanizing baths. This project has two parts: 1) The effect of loss of energy of the laser due to aging of the diode pumps was characterized in order to increase the useful life of those diodes. 2) The analysis of galvanization baths with a different base composition was analysed in order to have a wider field of application with the instrument.
