Roles and Responsibilities;• Ensure compliance with relevant laws• Ensure the implementation of environmental management policies, strategies, plans, and other relevant statutes and recommendations contained in the reports• Liaising with Statutory bodies such as the National Environment Management Authority, County Government on Licensing and other environmental-related issues/concerns• Coordinating Environmental Activities such as training, programs, and sensitization and awareness• Organizing community environmental awareness/sensitization programs to increase staff, students, and other stakeholders’ awareness• Compilation of relevant technical documentation, permits, and management reports• Monitoring TU-K environmental compliance activities, including waste operations• Assisting in addressing environmental concerns and questions related to TU-K Sustainable Environmental Management and applicable environmental requirements• Assisting internal and external auditors during environmental audits• Ensuring proper notification of all environmental incidences as required• Implement procedural, reporting, and monitoring requirements as prescribed by environmental Legislation and applicable Regulations• Implementation of the Environmental Awareness Program• All environmental impacts are routinely assessed and addressed• Environmental risk assessment and hazard identification• Direct TU-K and contractors on how to implement environmental requirements such as pollution control, waste reduction, and best environmental management practices as well as other requirements listed in the approved Environmental Management Program (EMP) and relevant Environmental Policies and Legal Frameworks• Ensure effective implementation of recommendations made by External Environmental Auditors• Manage Waste Collection on site, and maintain records of waste disposal certificates• Review EIA reports submitted by the Environmental consultant to the University Show less
