As an instructor of first-year writing composition, it was my responsibility to usher freshman students into the world of collegiate research and scholarship. In my role, I provided students with a foundation in writing and rhetoric that they will use throughout their undergraduate careers and in their professional lives. In my position, I taught Writing 100 and Writing 101 courses to incoming students as part of the American University's Core curriculum.

I was responsible for supporting ongoing advocacy initiatives related to HIV prevention and Immigration initiatives to support Central Florida's LGBTQ+ Latinx community. I worked collaboratively with colleagues from across the organization, and our partner organizations, to promote the goals, messages, image, and awareness regarding LGBTQ+ Latinx issues. My job required me to engage and inform community members: managing social media pages and sending out press releases.
