I worked for Ville as his direct report for 2,5 years: during course of time Ville was a motivational leader with holistic and strategic approach in running the business. He's analytical and business-minded personality combined with hi-class negotiation skills enabled our team to deliver tangible and lasting results in achieving cost saving targets. As a person Ville is easily approachable team player with great sense of humour.

NS is purchasing alliance consisting of large Finnish companies. I reported to the Board and had total responsibility of company operations. In addition to my GM role I was directly responsible for different spend categories. Key results: * Remarkable spend coverage growth during 2015-2019 * Many new recruited member companies during 2015-2019 * Significant saving generation in bidding projects * Development of new purchasing concepts * Expansion of operations to totally new spend categories * Optimization of member companies’ resources through outsourcing of their activities to NS in various areas One of my important roles was stakeholder engagement in NS operations through frequent meetings with member companies’ business partners. The most important result of these meetings was a substantial increase in commitment rate in many categories, such as in ICT. Another important role was to supervise category team activities including category specific strategy creation and execution which helped to reach the spend coverage growth target as well as maximize member companies’ savings targets. SRM development together with steering group activity leading was one key priority which outcome was implementation of KPI measurement dashboard for TOP suppliers. Another realized development projects: * Implementation of spend reporting system to build up quarterly spend reporting to the Board. This enabled a quick and simple way to monitor the spend progress for the following years. * Internal process simplification through creation of employee training roadmap and renewal of supplier frame agreement set structure. * Starting of the sustainability policy planning with integration to the company procurement strategy. • Sanofi Oy
    • Helsinki, Finland
    • Head of Common Spend Procurement, Nordic&Baltic
      • May 2006 - May 2015

I started at Sanofi as Purchasing Manager in 2016 with the first task to set up a purchasing function. This position was new so my first mission was to implement a new purchasing culture in the company. By arranging different training and info sessions for all business units as well as building well-functioning relationship with the most important stakeholders I gained the trust internally and was able to run my bidding projects successfully. At that time I was responsible for all spend categories including common spend, clinical studies and sales & marketing. In 2019 Sanofi launched a global matrix organization to improve the effectiviness in purchasing. Departments in Nordic&Baltic countries merged and I was appointed as Lead Buyer being responsible for integrating Finland as part of NoBa organization. In 2013 I was appointed as Head of Common Spend for sourcing and procurement in 4 Nordic and 3 Baltic countries. The spend in Common Spend totalled 25MEUR included ICT, HR, Travel and FM categories, among the others. The lead buyers in other NoBa countries reported to me within the Common Spend scope. Key results: * Saving and coverage targets reached every year between 2006-2014 in Finland and at NoBa level * Successful implementation of category strategies in Nordic and Baltic countries * Common spend stakeholder satisfaction growth from 3 to 4,2 (scale 1-5) during 2013-2014 Show less
