Khilti Pari is a non-profit organisation that is fighting for women empowerment in India. We aim to change the view for girl child education by helping girls be independent. We have started programs to teach girls the basics of using a computer, training them for various professions, funding their school and college education etc. As we believe hiring women is another way of reaching our goal, 90% of our employees are women. By applying my artistic knowledge, I am working on creating a Khilti Pari merchandise line. Furthermore, I’m in charge of administration, donor relations, and passive fundraising. Through my role I have gained organisational skills, the importance of being innovative, team building and leadership skills, as well as social awareness.

I completed a two-week internship at Van Laere, an architectural firm, where I shadowed the lead architect at every site and attended planning meetings. I learned to use SketchUp to make 3D perspective views, worked on 2D plans of apartments, looked at lighting. During my time interning, we visited and examined the progress of a villa as well as a small hotel. I learned the importance of communication between everyone on site, teamwork, and accuracy.
