  • Beginner's Guide to Leadership (BGL)
    • Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
    • Beginner's Guide to Leadership (BGL) committee member
      • Mar 2022 - Present

Leadership is a critical skill for graduate researchers (GRs), as shown by the commissioning of the Developing and Supporting Leadership in higher education framework; however, GRs often lack any formal leadership training. BGL has partnerships with WEHI and the University of Melbourne and provides leadership fundamentals and workshops and serves as a launchpad for GR leadership engagement. BGL workshops and courses aim to train a large group of GRs across the Parkville precinct in an engaging, targeted, and specific Beginner’s Guide to Leadership foundation program. As a BGL committee member, I was involved in many aspects of project planning and execution. These include working with facilitators (finding and interviewing them) and arranging workshops and networking events. Show less

The SBS-EMCRA mentoring scheme aims to foster a collaborative culture between the Departments of the SBS within the MDHS, UoM.
