A bilateral residency exchange programme connecting makers in the UK and China. As maker in residence I am working on a project, "Strata pace layer products", developing a new model for sustainable distributed manufacturing of products in collaboration with Katrine Hesseldahl. Through in-depth residencies the Hello Shenzhen programme aims to build stronger links between UK and Chinese making practices, supporting meaningful collaboration and deepening learning between the two countries. The makers work with host partners in Shenzhen on a variety of themes, including maker education, sustainability and product design innovation. As makers in residence we will immerse ourselves in the rich Shenzhen making and manufacturing ecosystem and work collaboratively on the residency projects with local makers, designers, academics, startups or creative organisations. We will record our journey through blogs, photos and videos and share the outcomes of our residency during public events. Show less
