Conservation Corps Manager/Service Engagement Team Lead
-
Aug 2019 - Present
The New York-New Jersey Trail Conference is a volunteer-powered organization that builds, maintains, and protects public trails, in addition to their new work on invasive species. The Conservation Corps is an integral part of the overall accomplishments of the organization. I have the wonderful opportunity to run that program and ensure that all members who join have the best possible experience and go on to be environmental stewards themselves. I am responsible for the success of the organization’s AmeriCorps program, the NY-NJ Trail Conference Conservation Corps. As the Service Engagement Team Lead, I drive all team initiatives tied to the overall integration of 2,500+ volunteers and 50+ Corps members. Program Management: • Lead program manager for the Conservation Corps, responsible for coordinating multiple departments and external partners. • Transformed a program with structural deficiencies into a high-functioning department with processes and accountability for contract deliverables. • Driver of all recruitment efforts, including the creation of new interview structures and onboarding processes, focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusivity. • Serve as the main liaison for program staff, Conservation Corps members, and relationships with outside organizations. • Responsible for the management of the program’s $250,000 annual budget. Program Planning: • Developed and launched a career development program including a regular speaker series, career coaching, and seminars attended by over 200 individuals including internal and external stakeholders. • A member of the strategic planning committee working with the board and executive leadership to establish ambitious organization-wide goals with an equity lens. External Engagement Manager

Jul 2016 - Jun 2019
I was the External Engagement Manager at NJ LEEP, an amazing college access and success program based in Newark, New Jersey. The organization helps high-motivated, low-income, and first- generation high school students get accepted to college, succeed while there, and be connected to important internships and career opportunities. During my time there, I was responsible for multiple aspects of the External Engagement Department including the Attorney Mentor Program, events coordination, and database management. Promoted two times in three years. • Directed the Attorney Mentor Program, facilitating over 100 volunteers with high school students who supported them through their high school years. • Organized and managed key events throughout the year including alumni mixers, volunteer appreciation events, and debate prep sessions. Assisted in the annual Leadership in Diversity Gala raising over $1.3 million per year. • Implemented Raiser’s Edge as a new database system for contract management, which greatly improved efficiencies. • Co-managed the “Week on the Job” summer program, placing over 30 students in law firms and corporations throughout NY and NJ, including managing transportation, informational packets, and communication. • Created many external communication materials using Adobe CC. Radigals Treasurer

2009 - 2012
While a student at Rutgers University, I was a member of Radigals, a women empowerment organization that won the Prize for Distinguished Service to the Women’s & Gender Studies Department of Rutgers University. This organization focuses on providing a voice for curriculum development, an avenue for voicing opinions on feminist activism, an environment that celebrates diversity, unity, and communication, and an education that informs the community about global, national and local issues. I was the treasurer and social media coordinator for this organization during my tenure as a student at Rutgers. As a leader of the organization, I assisted in the organizing of the annual feminist conference. This event was one of the most successful student run events on campus during that semester. It lead to a broad increase in feminist organizations. Show less
