— Participated in a two week seminar led by professors, lawyers, and researchers in Berlin to develop skills in human rights reporting, communications, research, strategy and innovation. — Partnered with the Sexual Assault Crisis Center for an eight week fellowship to draft a policy brief with recommendations for combatting sexual harassment in Armenia, the first comprehensive report on the issue in the country. Conducted evidence-based qualitative research through expert interviews, legal analysis, and synthesizing reports of international organizations such as the OECD, the World Bank and the UN’s UPR. I also aided in the analysis of the WGSV sexual assault forensics survey and publicly presented an analysis of the different challenges combating violence in the U.S., India, and Armenia. Show less

At EmancipAction, an NGO dedicated to improving mental health resources for girls rescued from sex trafficking in South Asia, I worked directly in government and private rescue homes in Mumbai and Kolkata. Organized a workshop for caregivers at a government home in Mumbai with Dr. Verdeli, author of the WHO manual for Interpersonal Psychotherapy for lay counselors. With instructors from Battery Dance Company NYC and the generous support of the US Consulate, organized a therapeutic workshop in movement and dance for the girls in the home. Partnering with Sangaath, a Goa-based NGO providing mental health resources for school-going children, on adapting, evaluating, and expanding their best practices specifically for the girls at rescue homes. Led the design and implementation of EmancipAction’s tech project, the CareGiver App, which monitors and evaluates in psychological interventions. Show less

Completing a self-designed yearlong fellowship with SNEHA through the support of the Lombard Fellowship for global public service projects. Coding with STATA to analyze and write detailed reports outlining the impact of initiatives, trainings, and survivor services, training counselors for a new crisis helpline in Dharavi, and writing a 3-year-long health, gender, and violence intervention which will be implemented by 72 COs across 24 communities in Mumbai. Increased our Facebook reach by tenfold, our page likes by 63%, and our post engagement by 917% while co-running the Mumbai division of the UN's 16 Days of Activism Against Violence Campaign. Pursued a fellowship in direct service to survivors of gender-based violence through the generous support of the William Jewett Tucker Foundation. Trained and legally certified as a crisis center advocate to respond to survivors on a 24-hour crisis line, to aid clients with legal paperwork including Relief from Abuse (VT) and Protective Orders (NH), and to accompany survivors of sexual and domestic violence and stalking to courts, hospitals, and police stations. The office supports Senator Shaheen in drafting policies, working with constituents, managing the press, and overseeing administrative work. Assisted legislative staff with public health and environment policy projects, attended Congressional briefings, typed memos and wrote over 30 unique correspondence drafts. Special responsibilities included writing and distributing press reports and constituent call trackers, which were distributed daily to the Senator and the office. Completed a culminating research memo for my Nelson A. Rockefeller Grant on two contemporary pieces of legislation: the Campus Rape Act and the Campus Accountability and Safety Act. Show less
