      As the Coordinator for Safety & Risk, I am the key liaison point between Queensland Health - Sunshine Coast Hospital & Health Service (SCHHS) and the Coroners Office/Queensland Courts. I assist in managing the storage, access and dissemination of all clinical & administrative documentation relevant to all in-hospital coronial deaths across all facilities within the Sunshine Coast Hospital & Health Service. I play an important role in managing a death database that captures all in-hospital deaths, inclusive of both coronial and non-coronial hospital deaths. This information is used by the Health Service to evaluate their standard of care against best practice measures, identify opportunities for improvement and assess risks associated with clinical practice. This position assists the CNC Risk and Safety and the Medical Lead in managing an organisation wide Morbidity & Mortality Review framework to support clinical staff in fostering a best practice mortality review culture. This position is a central administrative liaison point between medical, nursing, allied health, administrative, patients, families, mortuary technicians and legal stakeholders in effectively managing our deceased population with care, dignity, respect, integrity and efficiency ensuring all sensitive confidential information relevant to the deceased is managed within the Queensland State Government legislative framework and QHealth policies, procedures and standards.
