As the Campus coordinator of the LAUTECH-BUTH Campuses (the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology and Bowen University Teaching Hospital), both situated in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, I was privileged to lead the amazing fellows from both campuses. We had 3 teams with 3 unique projects, with 2 of them winning the LEAP Africa subgrant for their change project. 1. Team Outliers: Project CleanUp Ogbomoso Volunteers cleaned up 3 major markets in Ogbomoso, sensitizing the people on the importance of cleanliness. We also visited Radio Broadcast Stations to air our sensitization on keeping Ogbomoso clean. 2. Team Chastity: Reproductive and Sexual Health This team had educative sessions in secondary schools on maintaining reproductive and sexual health alongside the advantage of abstinence. The students were also taught how to make reusable sanitary pads. 3. Team Impact: Project Stop SuperBugs Being a team of Medical Laboratory Science students, we created educative awareness on antimicrobial resistance in Secondary schools and markets. We also designed informative placards, banners, efliers, stickers and articles for the secondary schools, markets, LAUTECH main campus, LAUTECH college of health sciences, Bowen University Teaching Hospital and social media handles.
