Sean Gill
I have had the pleasure of working alongside Victoria Mai since September 2006. Victoria is an incredibly skilled worker, who has the capability to perform a vast number of techniques, and who is also able to systematically work through difficulties when experiments do not work as originally planned. This problem solving often takes a great deal of time, but Victoria is a dedicated worker who does not hesitate to spend the time required in the lab to get the job finished. She is often the first person to arrive at the lab in the morning and the last to leave at night, and can often be found in the lab on weekends. In addition to her own work, Victoria is always willing to spend time with colleagues in the lab discussing their projects and assisting them with problems that they are encountering with their research. Overall, Victoria is an excellent research scientist and a benefit to any lab that she works in.

Victoria and I worked together for 2 years while I was a post-doctoral scientist at U. of WA. She did great work, was thorough and organized, and eager to help anyone who needed it. We work on weekends and stayed late when necessary. The entire lab counted on her especially for maintaining the mice colonies, southerns, and ES cell cultures. I would high recommend Victoria for any position based on her ablilty to learn new skills and eagerness to help.
