For one week in both 2015 and 2016 I interned at Bill Shorten's Office - the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament House, Canberra ACT. In Semester 1 of 2016 I studied at the Copenhagen Business School (CBS) in Denmark where I was introduced to - Real-world theoretical applications; - Lecturers with high tier industry experience; - Independent thinking and - A new and exciting culture and lifestyle. Whilst studying at CBS I thoroughly enjoyed listening to lecturers whom had experience in diverse backgrounds i.e. marketing, economic analysis, human resource management as well building friendships with international contacts. My semester at CBS has broadened my mind both academically and culturally, allowing me to enhance my problem-solving and analytical skills. Not only this, my time at CBS has shifted my way of thinking in that when I consider any issue i.e. policy reforms, changes in interest rate, growth of small businesses I also consider international and foreign implications. Through my role as crew member at McDonald's I am accustomed to performing efficiently in a fast-paced and high pressured environment. My ability to quickly problem-solve to reach a solution has been developed when serving two customers simultaneously in the drive-thru department. In addition to this, my multi-tasking skills were further enhanced in successfully completing multiple food orders whilst taking customer orders and resolving any issues customers may have with their food orders. As crew member, I am able to work effectively within a team environment and complete my delegated duties and responsibilities. With this in mind I also know when to assert myself in situations where a crew member is performing a duty in an incorrect manner and teach my team members to perform their duties in the correct way.
