    • Remediation PMO
      • Jul 2018 - Present

I support the Remediation Team in meeting their obligations and adherence to the Remediation Framework, co-ordinating reporting, tracking of progress against individual workstream plans, recording decisions and follow up of actions from various committees to keep pace with the high volume and complex remediation activities within the business. I assist in the monitoring and reporting of workstream deliverables using established project methodologies, liaising with other departments, users and other colleagues as required, to ensure individual workstreams remain on track until completed. I also support the administration of the team's governance framework through the production and maintenance of project plans, risk logs, highlight reports, and any other associated documentation. I organise the governance committee meetings, produce the committee packs and co-ordinate the papers, status updates and proposals being submitted. I attend the meetings meetings to record the minutes and decisions made as well as producing and updating action logs. I also maintain the Remediation database recording and monitoring the progress of the Remediation projects. Show less

    • International Family Tracing Coordinator
      • Sep 2012 - Jun 2018

I coordinated a service which assisted people separated from family due to armed conflict, disaster, political upheaval and migration in restoring contact with their loved ones. I managed and carried out casework which involved handling incoming enquiries, interviewing service users, working with interpreters, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records and delivering news. I often worked with vulnerable and at risk service users including trafficked persons, unaccompanied and separated children, survivors of torture and those with mental health issues. I kept up-to-date with and followed safeguarding procedures and signposted to other services for additional support where necessary. I also sat on the Red Cross 'Unaccompanied and Separated Children' working group, assisting in developing and reviewing the policy, procedures, guidelines and best practice for how we worked with the service user group.I was responsible for developing an annual outreach plan on how best to promote the service to various stakeholders and conducted outreach with local communities, potential referral agencies and other Red Cross services through presentations, networking and attending drop-ins and events. I also completed Communications and Media training and was interviewed by local and national radio, print and online media outlets to increase public knowledge of service. This led to increased awareness of the service and the number of in-remit referrals and enquiries received. I gained a qualification in Volunteer Management and was responsible for recruiting, inducting, training and managing of a team of volunteers, placement students and interns. I oversaw their workload, conducted regular supervision sessions and provided support and debriefing. Show less

    • Needs Assessment Research Intern
      • Feb 2012 - Sep 2012

I was responsible for assessing the needs of local communities for the services offered by International Family Tracing. I mapped local refugee, asylum-seeker and diaspora communities in Greater Manchester through desk-based research and conducted structured interviews and facilitated focus groups with a range of stakeholders including other agencies, community leaders and potential beneficiaries. I also networked with community groups, organisations working with the target group and statutory agencies. At the end of my internship, I produced a 63-page report to be viewed nationally which shaped the development plan for the service locally. Show less
