I started as a meteorological analyst with RMS HWind before the 2022 Hurricane season. Working as an analyst requires general knowledge of hurricane structure and behavior as well as error within in situ and remote data. Working on shifts, analyst responsibilities include making hurricane track fixes, quality controlling then analyzing data to create a “snapshot” of storm intensity and shape, and writing operational discussions on short-term hurricane evolution. I was accepted as a William Lapenta intern at NOAA for the summer of 2021. I was selected to work at the Weather Prediction Center with the WSSI team. My project was titled "Verification of WPC Winter Severe Storm Index (WSSI)". Mentors were Mr. Jim Nelson and Dr. Josh Kastman. Project consisted of verification of the 2020-21 winter season as well as introducing two new ideas to update the WSSI and the verification process. I presented my work as a poster in the Student Conference of the 2022 AMS Annual Meeting. Show less

I worked with Dr. Henry E. Fuelberg on my undergraduate Honors in the Major thesis titled "Analysis of Lightning Flash Densities over Orlando, FL". Lightning data provided by USAF. ArcMap was utilized to produce CG lightning density maps. Successfully defended on April 16, 2020 and my thesis now resides in the FSU Research Repository. Thesis and presentation are attached below.
