Oct 2017 - Feb 2018
In this role I have worked for a variety of clients including Greene King, Oxfam, Beaverbrooks, National Rail, Care UK, Calthorpe Estates and Dunelm. On a daily basis I conduct media sell ins, draft editorial copy, act as a consultant for the client and support management to oversee multiple accounts. I have secured coverage in titles such as The Mirror, Grazia, Birmingham Mail, Ideal Home, Edinburgh Evening News and Daily Express. I have been involved in several national campaigns including ‘Beaverbrooks Believes’. For this campaign, I helped organise a ‘magical proposal’ in Westfields Stratford City. The PR stunt was filmed to issue alongside a national press release, with a supporting survey around ‘proposal trends’. The campaign secured 6 pieces of national and consumer coverage in titles such as Grazia and Mail Online. In October I was promoted to the role of Senior Account Executive after taking a lead on two of the biggest accounts in the consumer team (Care UK and Greene King investments). I led on several national campaigns for private care home provider, Care UK, including ‘We’ll Sing Again’ - a campaign celebrating Vera Lynn’s 100th birthday. This campaign secured 12 pieces of national coverage, as well as four pieces of broadcast coverage including a feature on BBC Newsnight. I currently run Greene King investments for Locals, Pub & Carvery, Flaming Grill and Hungry Horse sites. I help deliver a three-tiered PR and social approach for sites undergoing refurbishment to promote local awareness, drive footfall and increase sales. I also manage Christmas product placement for Oxfam, securing national coverage in The Notebook, Sunday Telegraph and Mail Online. This project has established relationships with national journalists including Femail editor Carol Driver and style editor at the Telegraph, Sophie Warburton.

There was a considerable degree of copywriting involved in the role including researching and drafting press releases, editorial features and case studies. Alongside drafting content for earned media, I curated content for social channels and populated monthly content plans. I was also involved in creative campaign development including an aerospace project for an engineering client. I predominantly focused on trade media relations, establishing contacts with journalists at HVAC and engineering titles.
