Instituto de Bioquímica Vegetal y Fotosíntesis (IBVF-CSIC) - Universidad de Sevilla The main goal of my PhD work has been the generation of Brachypodium distachyon transgenic plants that overexpress NADPH-thioredoxin reductase C (NTRC) exclusively in seeds endosperm, in order to analyse the role of this protein in endosperm metabolism, mainly in polysaccharide accumulation and storage proteins redox status. I have also studied and characterized an event of alternative splicing of NtrC transcripts as a mechanism to regulate NTRC protein accumulation in different tissues and under stress conditions.
