Sep 2021 - Jan 2022
Implementation of Wavelength Shifted Excitation Raman Differential Spectroscopy to suppress background fluorescence in different samples (PVC, Ethanol mixed with Allura Red dye) using a lock-in camera. Work completed during the project : -Literature review -Study of Raman spectroscopy -Alignement of the setup and choice of the optical components -Setting of the PID temperature controller -Characterization of the lasers -Preparation of the chemical solutions for the samples -Raman spectroscopy experiments and analysis -Discussion of the results -Redaction of the project report as a summary of the work and a suggestions for the setup

Feb 2021 - Jun 2021
Development of a microfluidic chip for processing and analyte focusing from large volume samples using isotachophoresis (ITP) with counterflow. Work completed during the project : -Literature review -Study of ITP and counterflow theory -Derivation of the theory necessary for the project (volume processing, Joule heating, accumulation, counter-pressure system) -Simulations of the ITP using different softwares -Design of the microchannel using COMSOL and KLayout for microfabrication in the clean room -Build of the counter-pressure system and setup -Preparation of the chemical solutions -ITP experiments and image analysis -Discussion of the results -Redaction of the project report as a summary of the work and a guide for continuation of the project
