Jan 2018 - Present
Two colleagues and I created Ulysses Petroleum Management (UPM) in 2018 to bring together extensive advisory, management and operational experience to assist clients in fully understanding the key technical and commercial drivers of their assets and deals, providing clear routes to value maximisation. The focus of UPM is on advising Governments, E&P companies, the financial community and legal institutions to support them in addressing policy and contract terms, governance, project technical and resource assessments, commercial evaluations and dispute resolution matters worldwide. Recent activities include helping a mid-sized O&G Producer systematically addresses opportunities to optimisation production, address and improve project delivery (specifically in the Front End) and scope the benefits of installing an Integrated Operations Centre (leading to issuing a commercial Expression of Interest). On another project, we worked with a major NOC to conduct an in-depth technical and management investigation into their entire upstream operation. We identified that with “business as normal” the Corporation would have a significant shortfall against their government commitments and made concrete recommendations to address this shortfall. These included a significant increase in short-term activity (including PSO and infill drilling) and creating a longer-term plan to build organisational strength to handle the dramatically increasing complexity as their fields came out of the “easy” oil stage (including changes to processes, organization, behavioral, leadership and staff competencies).
