Instructional Coach
My responsibilities included serving approximately 66 teachers K-6 as an instructional coach. I provide professional learning opportunities, encourage and build teacher leadership and capacity, model and co-teach using best practices and implementing a variety of instructional strategies for teachers' and students' requests and needs. I have had the privilege to participate in the training of the Pennsylvania Institute of Instructional Coaching (PIIC) for the past several years. As an Instructional Coach my duties of support and professional learning opportunities have expanded to include all content areas and encompasses three elementary buildings and approximately supporting sixty-six teachers and hopefully three one period a day coaches. One of the major goals of the leadership team is to build and support a student-centered learning environment for all learners. It is exciting to be a part of a transforming culture. Building teacher capacity through the coaching model will build and strengthen our teacher leadership and collaboration in our district. Coaching is a small part of the support network and as the teachers grow in confidence and collaboration becomes the norm - coaching will become a vital role that every teacher leader will feel confident in sharing their expertise. My responsibilities over the years have included, but not limited to the following educational areas: I have served as an Itinerant Emotional Support Teacher at Middle School, Special Education Teacher, Regular Education Teacher. I am currently assigned as Title I Math Coach. Some specific experiences include: multi-grade level teaching, primary, intermediate, and high school special education grades K-12, regular education teacher for grades 3,4,and 6; I have been actively involved and responsible for the program development, implementation, and professional development of the district's K-6 Elementary Science Inquiry Curriculum.
