One is delivering Chronic Disease Self Management workshops having trained as a Master Trainer in Chronic Disease Self-Management at Stanford University, California, U.S. The other is an ongoing Peer Support Network to primarily provide health promotion and address social isolation.

  Development, Implementation and Evaluation of a six month Health Promotion Program for PLWHA Victoria, focusing mainly on developing and co-ordinating two community forums/workshops for HIV positive homosexually active men (Down & Dirty and Down & Dirty 2) involving issues around sexual negotiating. This was done in partnership with HIV Peer Support of the HIV Services Program of the VAC/GMHC. My work also included an interactive event on general sexual health for the broader community in Bendigo. This was done in partnership with the Country Awareness Network (CAN). During my employment I also contributed to other PLWHA Victoria programs/projects including the conducting of the QUIT FRESH START course, which was developed by the Anti Cancer Council of Victoria. This was conducted for people living with HIV who were clients of the Positive Living Centre as well as VAC/GMHC staff members. This was in partnership with the HIV Services program, VAC/GMHC.

This involved managing the initial ethical requirements, content issues as well as the technical aspects of the project including web programming and web designing and then the ongoing administration of the site. It involved the use of Mambo. Mambo is an Administrative Management System for the development of web sites.

  Health Promotion in Sexual HealthCommunity Education Program (CEP), Victorian AIDS Council/Gay Men’s Health Centre (VAC/GMHC)Cross Cultural Community Development Officer.My role was to provide education and support in sexual health for men who have sex with men of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Backgrounds as well as Gay men and Sistagirls of Indigenous background.CEP and HIV Services Program, VAC/GMHCHIV Peer Education and Support OfficerMy role was in health promotion for all people living with HIV as well as one on one peer support for men who have sex with men living with HIV. This included facilitation of HIV Positive Peer Support Groups. These were discussion/support groups for gay and bi-sexual men living with HIV. Health Promotion Program (HPP), VAC/GMHCCeased Peer Support role and continued in the HIV Peer Education Officer role full time. My role involved a continuation of health promotion for all people living with HIV. This included the development and facilitation of workshops, the development of resources and presentations at conferences. It also included the production and presenting of a weekly community radio program on HIV/AIDS called POSITIVE LIFE.
