      My responsibilities include: - Provide logistics and administrative support to Georgetown for the management and development of the 360 000 hectares of rainforest at Kurupukari in the North Rupununi. - Maintain Field Station and Forest Infrastructure; and vehicles and boats. - Review, strengthen, upgrade and implement changes to existing Policies and Procedures for the day-to-day Administrative activities of the Field Station. - Design and implement more efficient and effective procedures and systems for all finance activities, petty cash transaction, commercial purchases and sales; and all financial reporting. - Maintain excellent working relationships between Iwokrama and its partners and stakeholders in the villages of Fairview and the North Rupununi. - Provide monitoring and support/training for Community Business Development Projects. - Be responsible for the service quality and commercial success of tourist activities at Iwokrama - Have line management responsibility for the catering and cleaning staff that look after the tourists - Conduct orientation and training sessions to ensure that all staff have an understanding of the expectations of international visitors - Ensure that the ecological activities (eg. bird walks etc) are delivered and organised in a way that maximises visitors’ enjoyment. - Develop new tourism products and provide marketing support such as special tours, packaging popular destinations etc - Provide the quality of hospitality (accommodation, food etc) as expected by international tourists - Host visitors throughout the period and provide them with the level of atmosphere and experience able to transform them into advocates of Iwokrama. - Sensitively and effectively work with the local indigenous community, helping employees build skills necessary to deliver the quality of overall service expected, and to play a role in enhancing genuine collaboration with and the reputation of the Centre vis a vis the local community Show less
