Involved in the planning, research and execution of town centre events which will positively benefit the local businesses. Skills involved include working within a time scale and to a budget, using own initiative to work independently to co-ordinate events from conception to take down. I was solely responsible for the planning, execution and evaluation of events geared at bringing people into the town to utilise the local shops. Other tasks included dealing with local show owners and completing all relevant documentation including event proposals, planning applications, risk evaluation and insurance documents. I was responsible for the creation and distribution of marketing materials and press releases. I worked closely with the local council and police department to ensure public safety at all times. I also implemented surveys within the local community and town centre businesses in order to gauge opinions regarding events. I was in charge of Alloa’s first entry into the “Keep Scotland Beautiful” competition which won the Silver Prize. On a daily basis, I completed most administrative tasks.
