The project SmartCOPDTrainer aims at developing a digital assistant for persons living with COPD, a type of obstructive lung disease, that motivates them to engage in regular physical activity.AIT’s role in the project is to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of different persuasive strategies and gamification approaches in the SmartCOPDTrainer App.The development of the SmartCOPDTrainer App follows the ISO 9241-210 standard of "human-centered development". This means that throughout the project the perspective of the user, his/her experience with the App, his/her needs and emotions as well as the context of use are considered in all steps of the iterative design process.
