Within Czech Rail Administration (SŽDC) I focused mainly on the optimization of the spatial position of the track, which includes designing the optimal track parameters in accordance with standards and with regard to the operating speed and track condition itself. Over the two years I have been working on 15 track optimization and reconstruction projects and two rail speed studies. I was also a member of the BIM (Building Information Modeling) implementation team. I was commented and consulted on BIM pilot projects implementing in railway environment and co-operating with BIM researchers abroad (France, Belgium, Germany). Show less

My main work duties at the Institute were processing expert appraisals and professional assessments in the field of real-estate value. It started with preparation and studying supporting documents about particular object such as object plan, planning permission, site diary, property rights and relations, nature and purpose of the building and land. A very important part of processing was personal inspection of particular building or construction, prepared photographic documentation and drafting a record. I was also required to research information such as the surrounding neighbourhood, infrastructure, parking options, availability of shops and services and civic amenities. My position included elaboration of expert appraisals of real-estate value or construction based on established and researched facts and required me to take full responsibility for an outcome. My expert appraisals become an integral part of several mortgage applications, insurance claims and lawsuits. While working at the institute I was a part of an expert team which was processing very complicated and extensive expert appraisals including, but not limited to, the extent of structural damage and the quantification of damages after the destructive fire of the castle (UNESCO); collapse of 5 floor building (plus two basement levels) in the construction process in Bratislava; collapse of the school building in eastern Slovakia. I worked as a full time employee of the geodetic division participating on building a section of 1st class highway "D1" which was a part of the "A" pan-European corridor highway. The particular section of highway was mostly formed of bridges and road overpasses. My main work duties included geodetic works throughout all phases of highway construction such as building vertical and horizontal geodetic network, leveling, high-precision leveling, breakdown of the axes which was necessary for establishment of planned vertical and horizontal position of the particular part of the highway according to the project documentation; geodetic work during construction and control of quality of rendering of the particular part of the highway in nature. It included confirmation the exact geometry of the work performed the actual parameters and comparing them with the design. A crucial part of my duties was calculation of the volume of used material for billing purposes. A large part of the job duties consisted of the generation of official documentation of the actual realization of construction using controlling geodetic work. Because of my economic background, I was responsible for financial operation within the division of geodesy and for some financial operations between divisions and headquarters. Show less
