Bio
Dr. Rodney E Rohde, SV, SM, MB (ASCP), FACSc,
I met Veronica through her participation in H-LSAMP at Texas State. The Houston-Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation Scholars Program (H-LSAMP) is a National Science Foundation funded program in the College of Science and Engineering at Texas State University. Structured as a community of scholars, H-LSAMP is designed to substantially increase the number of students graduating with baccalaureate degrees in the sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics, particularly students from diverse backgrounds. As part of this program, I was "partnered" with Veronica to be her mentor. As an Associate Professor in Clinical Laboratory Science and, recently, also as Associate Dean for Research in the College of Health Professions, I have had the good fortune to work with many academically talented individuals. Veronica is an outstanding, talented young lady with the word "professional" written all over her. She is diligent, caring, and hard-working. I remember several conversations with her about her future academic and professional career plans, and, it does not surprise me at all to witness her success. Her star is on the rise, and as a fellow Texas State Bobcat, I couldn't be more proud of her.
