CARE (Coping, Acceptance, Recovery & Engagement) is a peer-facilitated support group for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence at SUNY ESF. Karley O'Connor and I collaborated with ESF administration and local sexual violence nonprofit, Vera House, to plan and implement weekly meetings. These meetings created a space for survivors to share weekly struggles and triumphs, to gain tools for healing and self care, and to build a strong network of other survivors.
