      I had to manage accommodation for up to 470 foreign students in multi-occupancy properties owned by the school and oversee and maintain 300+ host family home stays. My duties included: Visiting host families; managing the school’s airport transfer service for individuals and groups; managing and manning the duty emergency phone on a rota basis (24 hour call); ensuring student satisfaction and complaints/feedback is acted upon as quickly and efficiently as possible with diplomacy and tact and taking into account cultural differences and dealing with difficult people; sometimes managing, residential cleaning staff, the maintenance team and organising outside contractors. With advance planning I ensure there is sufficient accommodation of all types available at all times. I also manage and control all advertising and general information connected to accommodation as well as maintain student accommodation records. I also work closely with the welfare department, making sure all host families are DBS checked and if any issue arises I make accommodation changes preserving the welfare and safety of students at all times.
