The Swedish Energy Markets Inspectorate (Ei) is an independent government agency which regulates the energy markets in Sweden. Tasked to ensure that the laws and rules are followed by the market actors. At the Department for Authorization and Approval (Tillstånd och Prövning), my main task consist in examining applications for and issue concessions for electrical grid (power lines) followed by inter alia The Swedish Environmental Code (Miljöbalk 1998:808) and The Electricity Act (Ellag 1997:857). Other tasks also consist of interpreting the exceptions from the concession requirement for electrical grid stated in the regulation: Förordning (2007:215) om undantag från kravet på nätkoncession enligt ellagen (1997:857).
