I am working as the Board Governance Officer for the Board of WorkSafe NZ, liaising with the leadership team and CE at WorkSafe as part of a small team ensuring key policies and strategies move through the process to sign-off. I am responsible for liaison with the Board Chair, Board Directors, and the wider WorkSafe senior leadership team. My core functions are to support the board, facilitate decision-making, arrange and support meetings of the board, board committees, and management, and follow up on action items. Core competencies are: maintaining deadlines for papers and actions, agenda-building and meeting coordination, quality control, and board support such as venue and travel bookings, training, and ensuring all aspects of governance are covered and run smoothlu. The NZFOA and the NZFFA are member organisations representing commercial plantation forest owners interests. We act for the wider sector, not just members, and ensure that our voice is heard in the consultation processes for various issues. My areas of responsibility are biosecurity, environmental issues, land use, and fire management. I sit on a number of governance groups within these work areas, and report directly to the CE, and the board of FOA and the Forest Growers Levy Trust, which is the financial body that oversees forest sector spend from the harvested wood commodity levy. My role here includes: - secretariat services for four board committees (fire, environment, biosecurity, small forest owners) - keeping committee members updated on progress of submissions to government - communication with government agencies and regulatory bodies - engaging with members to ensure representation on issues key to the industry's success - relationship management (internal industry and industry to government) - project management of $1.5 million of work programme projects annually - preparation of financial reports, agenda, papers, PowerPoint presentations, and Word documents - board governance (agenda setting, calendar management, talking points, reporting) Show less

During my ten years at Colmar Brunton I undertook a number of qualitative research projects for clients in the government, commercial and non-for-profit sectors. I specialised in end-to-end management of projects - from brief-taking and proposal writing, to project design, implementation, fieldwork, analysis and reporting and presenting findings. I worked to develop themes and frameworks for often complex customer experiences and perceptions, and presented these findings clearly to clients (either as written reports or presentations).
