Venessa is always a positive force for students. She shows how much she cares in every single aspect of her job. During my time working with her at the Educational Opportunity Program at SUNY Oneonta I saw her help disadvantaged students live up their their potential.

Venessa advised me throughout my four years at Oneonta in multiple capacities. She worked with me as an EOP Counselor and was always attentive to my needs academically, socially and personally. Although Venessa had a large group of students that she worked with I always felt like she was able to assist me because she followed up regularly and kept a detail profile of what I needed to help be successful. She specifically worked with me about my transition to College socially, my study habits academically and she helped me gain insight on how organization could be a tool and not a hindrance to be used both personally and academically. In addition to being my mentor Venessa also worked with me as a teacher and a co-curricular advisor to a group that I was on the Executive Board. Academically Venessa always would make sure that we were challenging ourselves and learning how what we learned in the classroom could be utilized in the present and the future to help our growth. As an advisor of a group that worked to help students with the transition to college she made sure that our group worked to reach the needs of all, not just some of the students that we represented. Finally I knew Venessa as a campus leader at Oneonta State. While I was working with our Student Association and Residential Life we regularly used Venessa as a resource on how to tackle problems of diversity that were faced at the college. She worked to make sure that all students were represented regardless of whether they were in the minority or the majority. I have no doubt that Venessa would be an asset to any organization and believe that the skills that I saw her display are transferrable to a multitude of roles. She always went above and beyond to make sure tasks were completed and advocated for the well-being of students. If you need any more information about Venessa feel free to contact me.
