Pashmina.com is a sustainable venture bridging the gap between the craft & the art connoisseurs, with a vision to bring back the Dying art of Pashmina to the world front by building awareness towards Slow Fashion & the exquisite Craftsmanship that has withstood time & generations! We at Pashmina.com with the support of the Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India are bringing Authenticity & Seal of Trust to the Pashmina, thus to reduce & further eliminate the misuse of the word “pashmina” that it is existing in today’s time. From the Closest of the Royals, to the love of Pashmina by Empress Josephine, Pashmina has been the most luxurious Craft in the World and yet in today’s time thousands of Artisans are leaving the Craft to do petty labor work due to falling demand & everything being sold as pashmina & yet not pashmina (be it machine made or wool, silk, cotton even viscose based). We at Pashmina.com are on a journey to ensure that these Artisans who have been taught by their parents & grand parents having skills that has withstood even time continue to make magic with crafting work of art pashmina pieces. We as a country and as a world have lost many arts & crafts over the years however we as a venture have bonded ourselves that we would not let pashmina die! We have endeavored on this journey to bring back to the world the real meaning of Pashmina: “Pashmina is a Sacred Art of Hand Crafting exquisite pieces with the finest cashmere from Changthangi species of Goats, where in each piece takes from a few days to many years to make”. We are working closely with over 100 Artisan Families in Kashmir, by giving them direct & sustainable source of income while supporting their children’s education & empowering the women by bringing them back into doing Hand Spinning from home & further enhancing the complete families livelihood.
