Lead inventor (awarded patent February 2019) for liquid biopsy platform that analyzes epigenetic alterations in the human genome instead of traditional point mutations. Main technical deliverables included: computational biomarker discovery tool that combines LASSO-Random Forest approach, biochemical assay with novel MBD-HRP fusion protein, and digital health infrastructure. Led team of 11 undergraduates in early-stage design, prototyping, and pre-clinical validation. Also authored business plan that detailed pathway to commercialization, clinical, and regulatory strategy. Recognized for multiple awards: 2nd place (out of 343 teams) at international research competition, the iGEM Jamboree, Best Diagnostics Project, Best Poster, Best Entrepreneurship, Best Education and Public Engagement Show less

Designed a novel approach to address contamination in industrial fermentation. Implemented metabolic engineering techniques to import a pathway for D-tagatose production in cyanobacteria. Used NCBI, aPE, Snapgene, and codon optimization tools to find and edit protein sequences. Generated 3D schematic of flat-plate photobioreactor through AutoCAD design tools. Submitted publication to iGEM PLOS collection; currently in review. Designed a novel approach to address contamination in industrial fermentation.
