       Education and training of healthcare professionals and graduates (medical laboratory technicians, medical technologists, scientists, phlebotomists, nurses & doctors)  Facilitate the training of Haematology doctors in preparation for the respective specialist College examinations  Manage internship learning programmes and provide quarterly reports of teaching and learning outputs  Facilitate education workshops and refresher programmes for continuous professional development (CPD/CME).  Develop and review educational curricula for the respective health professions learning programmes.  Develop content for online learning programmes on the learner management system (LMS) for internal and external hospital based health professionals.  Develop assessment strategies, assessment tools and assessment blueprints.  Evaluate learning programmes and curricula; make recommendations for upscale and improvement where necessary.  Monitor progress of students on the various learning programmes and provide performance feedback, guidance and support.  Coach and mentor the academic staff in the department (Academic and professional development of educators).  Supervise and support students doing undergraduate and postgraduate research.  Manage quality assurance and accreditation systems for education & training.  Maintain training status accreditation with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).  Identify and manage departmental and institutional risks related to education and training.  Develop education/ training policies & procedures.  Prepare reports detailing programme planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the respective learning programmes and research outputs.  Provide input into workplace skills plan and annual training report for organizational skills development.  Prepare and manage the department budget.  Keep updated with trends & practices in higher education, medical and health science fields.
