As owner and operator, I was responsible for building security as well as the safety and security of each of my clients. I greeted each of my clients in the lobby as they arrived, after turning over the massage table by cleaning and redressing with clean sheets. I was responsible for sanitizing all tools and lotion bottles as well as the cleanliness and organization of the clinic. I also handled most email correspondence with our clients, informing them of any changes to scheduling, pricing, or policy, or any relevant updates. Each new client received a full assessment to pinpoint problem areas and to create a plan for treatment. I specialized in treating people from age 8-80 with injuries, minor-major chronic pain, inflammatory and neurological diseases such as Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue syndrome with focus on posture correction through muscle manipulation. I also offered advice on minor lifestyle changes my clients could make to decrease their pain in improve their overall health and mood, holistically. My overall goal is always to empower my clients to believe that healing is possible. At the end of each session, I checked out each client using a digital POS system (square) and I personally processed all necessary refunds and product purchases. My partner and I work together to handle budgets, taxes and other financial statements.

Working alongside Holistic Acupuncturists and Chiropractors, my mission was to aid in patients healing by offering deep tissue massage and advice for alternative lifestyle choices and practices that would increase their chances of healing. I treated patients with conditions ranging from cancer to lupus and other pain-inducing immune and neurological conditions such as Fibromyalgia using specialized Myofascial and Trigger Point techniques as well as breath-coaching. I listened to the patients objective needs and also performed assessments where necessary. I wrote my findings and suggestions on the patient's chart for the doctor to review, referencing specific muscle characteristics specific to the patient using anatomical names. Communication with the doctors was necessary in-between treatments to ensure we were all working in tandem to provide the best deductive care possible. I traded services with the doctors and we all encouraged one another to stay healthy for our families and our patients.

My objective was to perform deep tissue massages to anyone in need of pain relief or relaxation. Clients were referred to me specifically for Trigger Point Therapy and Myofascial Therapy and after one year, I received the highest accolade for 5-start online reviews at a 99.8%. With the help of the establishment owner, I pioneered a therapist workshop during which I offered my services and knowledge to other team therapists, creating another avenue for my educational benefit as I learned from and shared ideas and practices with colleagues. During promotional times, I would upsell an add-on service to each client or additional services I recommend based on my findings as well as helpful products. I helped the evening staff clean and prep the clinic for the upcoming shift the following mornings and regularly ran and folded loads of laundry for all staff.

    • Assistant Manager
      • 2010 - 2011

As assistant sales manager I helped prepare the weekly staff schedule, supported the store manager in the hiring process, ordering new product, and leading sales. I counted inventory every quarter and processed DVD returns as well as product and merchandise purchases. I organized displays and helped customers find their perfect combo of entertainment and food to maximize their family or date night experience. I originally applied to be a front desk agent/membership consultant, but was soon promoted to assistant membership manager because of my rapport with the members and staff as well as my commitment to the preservation of the facility and contributions. In this role, part of my job was entering confidential member files into Excel, but also acting as the face of the YMCA; representing YMCA services and membership benefits at local wellness shows. Lastly, I stepped in as instructor for ladies water aerobics and kids rock climbing when needed.
