MISS READ @ KW Institute for Contemporary Art: 2009, 2010, 2011 @ abc art berlin contemporary: 2012, 2013 For five years, MISS READ has annually invited international publishers and artists to show their books at Berlin's cultural institutions. As a genre of its own, the artist book reflects contemporary ways of artistic production and publishing to a great extent and also addresses issues of presentation and circulation as well as new strategies of distribution. Starting with 26 publishers, MISS READ in the end presented a selection of up to 100 of the most active contributors in this field, the festival provides the rare opportunity to encounter and explore the contemporary scene of independent publishing.
